There are no more beautiful
anchorages anywhere in the
Northwest. Desolation Sound
has been the destination of
boaters for generations. After
a side trip up Jervis Inlet to
Princess Louisa Inlet and
Chatterbox Falls, there is
Refuge Cove, Prideaux Haven,
Melanie Cove, Tekerne Arm,
Roscoe Bay, Von Donop Inlet,
and Malispina Inlet. Stops in
Nanaimo, Pender Harbor, and
Lund offer provisions, good
restaurants, and interesting
shopping.
Desolation Sound is crowded in July and August, but May, June and September can be delightful.
